Damp proof membrane installation is now an important step in all new build construction to prevent moisture or wind transmission. It is laid onto concrete or any other type of building material to prevent it from absorbing moisture through capillary action. This article takes a look at EPDM damp proof membrane and the advantages it offers to keep buildings damp and wind-proof.

Tank liners are considered an important element of irrigation, industrial and potable water storage tanks. Russetts Developments Ltd have years of experience supplying EPDM and Butyl rubber tank liners, however we do also supply alternative tank liner materials for the containment of more aggressive liquids or for the onsite lining of complicated shaped tanks where prefabrication is not an option. These other tank liner materials include Polypropylene, Flagon Soprema synthetic liner of TPO modified Polyolefin and Flagon Soprema PVC. In this article we compare EPDM versus Butyl tank liner materials used in the majority of installations or refurbishments.

Water tank liners for potable and industrial use are an important component to steel, galvanised, above or below ground water storage tanks. Tank liners preserve the longevity of the tank and form an important barrier to toxins leaching into the water.

Waterproofing membranes or strips of EPDM rubber used on cladding, facades and for isolating joints around external window frames and doors of buildings, both commercial and residential. The rubber membrane works by keeping rainwater, damp and moisture transferred by wind out of buildings thereby preventing structural damage caused by water. At Russetts Development we are proud to supply premium grade waterproofing membranes that protect buildings from environmental and weather hazards.

Water proofing strips, sometimes called waterproofing membranes, are an essential component of both residential and commercial buildings. At Russetts Developments we supply water proofing strips made for cladding, facades and external window frames of buildings, all of which are subject to damage caused by wind, damp and rainwater.

The real trick to guaranteeing longterm water containment or waterproofing solutions is to invest in material that will withstand the forces of nature over a life time. A type of synthetic rubber membrane known as EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) has proven success in a number of application types by offering outstanding resistance to heat, UV rays, ozone and extreme weather conditions. It's versatility is based on the fact that it can be fabricated into various size sheets. Read on to discover the use of EPDM rubber liners in water containment and waterproofing applications.

Russetts Developments Ltd (RDL) EPDM rubber roofing membrane system offers builders or roofers the means to reliably waterproof low slope roofs. RDL can custom fabricate an EPDM sheet to the size of the roof making installation a relatively easy, quick and safe process. We can fabricate to the size required for each roof no matter what the shape. EPDM roofing systems are known to outperform other roofing products used for waterproofing.

Rubber roofing membranes were introduced to the building market in the 1960's and have a 50 year history of use. EPDM rubber roofing membrane has been used in the most demanding situations to stop water seeping through roofs onto the content of residential homes and industrial properties. EPDM rubber roofing membranes are now routinely used for flat roofs replacing the three layer felt system that was commonly used. The difference between these two roofing systems is that EPDM has over a three times longer life span, it can be recycled and the water that runs off this roofing system is safe to use in 'grey water' recycling.

Waterproofing membranes applied to window frames and to the facade of a building or residential property are a critical step in the building process to guarantee protection against water seepage. Failing to protect a building against rain, wind, and sun will result in the walls and facade deteriorating over time. A rubber membrane used to waterproof the external walls, roofs and windows of buildings offers many superior qualities to guarantee a lifetime of water resistance.

There are a range of damp proof course applications available on the market of which high performance rubber products such as EPDM has superseded traditional methods some of which suffered from creep under heavy load and therefor a shorter lifespan. EPDM is used for damp proof course application based on two key properties demonstrated. EPDM has high tensile strength and elongation properties therefore it is resistant to tearing and puncturing. The strength, flexibility and workability provides an efficient method of controlling water penetration into buildings.
