Water means life and healthy water is needed in all aspects of our lives, both commercial and domestic. Water Management Systems are used extensively in industries such as horticulture, maintenance of sports grounds and fish keeping to ensure adequate, healthy supplies of water. As part of this management system water is collected and stored in galvanised or aluminium storage tanks, which are effectively lined to keep them water tight and reduce the effects of evaporation as much as possible. Materials such as Butyl and EPDM rubber liner materials have proven highly effective tank liners. Here are some of the reasons why:

The most obvious situation in which a square pond is suited is the central point of a traditional style flower garden. Other sitings could be to install it beside a patio as an eye-catching feature with a wide variety of decorative plants around it, or to position it at the far end of a grass path, with distinctly shaped aquatic plants in it. A square pond needs to be seen from close-up so any imperfections in its construction would be noticed. To avoid this, install a tailored-to-fit rubber pond liner, which will be free of creases and folds.

The function of a pond liner is to hold water. Choosing the best quality pond liner will mean less risk of damage and resulting water leakage. Today, the most commonly used liner for a formal pond of a square, rectangular, circular or 'L'-shape is Butyl or Epalyn rubber made-to-measure to the exact dimensions of the pond. This type of liner is commonly referred to as a tailored-to-fit or box-welded.
