Golf course design and architecture generally (if not always!) includes water features which serve multiple purposes. Lakes, reservoirs, streams or wetlands are incorporated into the landscaped for aesthetic purposes, environmental enhancement, water storage and as obstacles to make a course more challenging. Soil dug out to build a water feature is used to landscape an embankment, greens or to build bunkers. In this article we look at the importance of such an asset to a golf corse and how the use of lake liners reduce water lose while also working to maintain healthy water quality.

Garden pond liners are designed to contain the water in the pond as well as adding to the aesthetics of the design. Natural ponds out in the country-side thrive without the need for a pond liner, but the soil type in residential areas of the UK don't have life-long water-holding properties and therefore garden ponds need to be lined. Refurbishing a water tank is very important to ensure you have a tank that will have last a long time without contaminating your water or needing regular maintenance. Many people do not realise that the maintenance of a water tank is crucial as corrosion takes place over time and eventually leads to the tanks failure. Those who fail to refurbish their water tanks get into unnecessary expenses as they would lose the existing tank and will have to now replace it with a new one.
