EPDM (brand name Epalyn EP) is a flexible rubber membrane with many features that contribute to its high performance in demanding applications such as for the water containment of lakes and reservoirs providing a high quality barrier to water loss prevention through ground leakage. Some soil types in the UK leak more than others therefore in the lake construction process it is important to determine the amount of clay present and take preventative steps by installing a high quality
lake liner. Lake liners also form a barrier to ground pollutants entering the water.
Ponds, lakes and reservoirs provide practical and aesthetic benefits golf courses.
Russetts fabricate EPDM liners into various sizes for a wide range of lake, pond and reservoir projects. With these types of applications, the liner used has to withstand extremes in weather conditions. During the manufacturing process of EPDM, the liner is vulcanised. In other words the liner is treated under pressure and heat to improve its properties creating a strong, flexible membrane that is resistant to UV radiation, temperature extremes while remaining flexible for installation.
Although slightly more flexible than Butyl, Epalyn EP rubber is similar in appearance and has some superior physical properties, such as tear and tensile strength.
EPDM rubber lake liners are very popular in the UK, however some EPDM rubbers cannot be vulcanised together and can only be joined with tape and adhesive glues and are not very pliable. Epalyn EP rubber can be vulcanised into most shapes and sizes providing a secure watertight joint between sheets.
Russetts Epalyn EP rubber is available in
pre-packs and
rolls. It is the perfect liner to use in all types of demanding waterproofing applications as well as for lakes and humble garden ponds. Contact Russett's today to discuss your pond or
