The use of pond liners to create a garden pond is
probably the easiest, quickest and most cost

pond liner allows you the freedom to design
a pond that suits your requirements without the
restrictions imposed by the purchase of a
preformed pool. Provided that the top of the
pond is level the pond liner can be molded to any
shape and size you desire and comes with a long
term warranty for added peace of mind.
We supply a range of liners as follows:
Heavy Duty PVC
A very popular Liner as a starter range. This material is suitable for small ornamental ponds. It is very flexible and pliable making it easy to disguise creases. Not ideal for larger installations due to its thickness. Available in pre-packs and rolls which come with a lifetime guarantee up to 60sqm and 20 years on larger liners.
Pinnacle PVC
Tougher and thicker than Heavy Duty PVC but is still quite a flexible sheet. It can be used in a boarder range of installations and is available in pre-packs and rolls. This material comes with a lifetime guarantee up to 80sqm and 20 years on larger liners.
Butyl Rubber 0.75mm: Unlike
PVC sheeting butyl rubber is very robust and
there is
no financial compromise with this
material. Although thicker
than the PVC’s Butyl is still remarkably
flexible and easy to
use. Butyl is ideal for larger installations
due to its much tougher qualities and it can
be welded on site using a portable hot
bonding machine. Not only is butyl available
in
pre-packs
and
rolls, but also as specials in any size
and shape. 1mm
and 1.5mm butyl can also be supplied for
even tougher applications. Butyl comes with
a lifetime guarantee up to 100
sqm and 25 years on larger sheets.
Epalyn EP Rubber 0.75/0.85mm:
RDL import this Epalyn EPDM based material from
Sweden - although slightly more flexible
than Butyl, Epalyn is very similar in its
appearance, but some major physical
properties are superior, such as tear
strength and tensile strength. It is
becoming popular in the UK now, as this EPDM
sheet can be hot bond welded in the same way
as Butyl. 0.85mm thickness can be used for
more demanding applications. The quality of
Epalyn is not reflected in the price. Epalyn like Butyl is available in
pre-packs,
rolls and specials. Epalyn is guaranteed for life
up to 100sqm and 25 years on larger liners.
Tailored and Box-welded Liners: Butyl
and Epalyn can be manipulated into quite
complicated shapes. Tailored liners give you
the option of no creasing
and a much neater finish. Unfortunately
tailored
and box-welded liners are not available in
PVC.
RDL Underlay:
This 250g/sqm underlay offers a high level
of protection in a
convenient and cost effective way.
Underlay is available on
2m wide roll in 30m and 60m lengths.
Shorter lengths can be cut ‘off the roll’
and pre-packs are now available. RDL can
also offer ‘one piece’ factory prefabricated
underlay for larger or uniquely shaped
applications- details on request.
