Best Fit Pond Liner for Formal Ponds
Wednesday, April 25, 2012
The function of a pond liner is to hold water. Choosing the best quality pond liner will mean less risk of damage and resulting water leakage. Today, the most commonly used liner for a formal pond of a square, rectangular, circular or 'L'-shape is Butyl or Epalyn rubber made-to-measure to the exact dimensions of the pond. This type of liner is commonly referred to as a tailored-to-fit or box-welded pond liner
Rubber pond liners
are used because they can be manipulated into many shapes and sizes including circular-shaped ponds with vertical sides. The main advantage to lining a uniform shaped pond in this way is that there are no unsightly folds or creases once installed. The seams of the liner are welded together for maximum strength.
A tailored-to-fit liner is cut and welded to the exact shape of your pond so when ordering this type of lining it is wise to dig your pond first and take exact dimensions (length x width x depth as well as the dimension of the lip required) to pass on to the supplier who will then cut and weld the pond liner material into the exact shape require so that it 'fits like a glove' into your excavated pond.
Our box-welded pond liner will included a lip onto which the edging will be laid to secure the liner in place.
